The games on Voxel Party are made by their creators, who may only use work they have the right to use. If you think a game here uses your work or your trademark without permission, tell us and we'll take it down quickly.

Sending a notice

Email copyright@voxelparty.io, or use the contact form with the topic "Copyright or trademark". Please include:

1. The link to the game (its page, like voxelparty.io/g/…, or the link you played it on).
2. The work or right you believe is infringed: a link to the original, or a description of it. For a trademark, the mark and where it's registered.
3. What in the game infringes it, in enough detail for us to find it.
4. Your name, postal address, phone number and email address, and if you act for the rights holder, who that is.
5. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law.
6. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
7. Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is fine).

These are the elements a notice needs under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3)). Under the EU Digital Services Act, a notice also needs a clear explanation of why you think the content is illegal. The same address takes notices about any other illegal content, not only copyright.

Sending a notice you know is false can make you liable for the damage it causes (17 U.S.C. §512(f)). If you're not sure a use infringes, for example a parody or a short reference, it may be worth asking a lawyer first.

What we do

• We check the notice. If it's complete and the claim looks right, we remove the game or disable access to it quickly, usually within a few days.
• We tell the creator: their page shows that the game was taken down and why, and we may pass on the notice (without your phone number or address).
• We answer you by email, and explain our decision either way.

If your game was taken down (counter-notice)

If you think we took your game down by mistake, or you have the rights to what it uses, reply through the contact form or to copyright@voxelparty.io with:

1. The link to the game that was taken down.
2. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification.
3. Your name, postal address, phone number and email address.
4. That you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you're outside the US, any district where Voxel Party may be found), and that you'll accept service from the person who sent the notice.
5. Your physical or electronic signature.

We send the counter-notice to whoever sent the notice. If they don't tell us within 10 to 14 working days that they've gone to court, we may put the game back and lift the strike. Under the EU Digital Services Act you can also simply ask us to look at our decision again, and we will.

Repeat infringers

Every notice we uphold is a strike on the creator's account. After three strikes, we close the account. A strike is lifted if a counter-notice succeeds or we find we made a mistake.

Names of other games

Game titles can't use other games' or brands' names (like Minecraft, Pokémon or Fortnite). When a title, description or tags mention one, the game waits for a moderator before it shows in the store. Pick your own name: it's more fun anyway.
